ABOUT US
Motivated by the Christian idea that all people are created equal, Zimonya seeks to serve the vulnerable in Zimbabwe not just with pity but with respect, not just in words but in action.
Zimonya is made up of 3 volunteers in England and 3 in Zimbabwe. We’re a UK registered charity which seeks to care for the vulnerable in Zimbabwe, such as the poor, the marginalised, the sick, the bereaved, the orphaned and the forgotten.
Zimonya began with 2 ladies from the nearby church looking after 3 orphans in 2004. Within a short space of time there were 107 orphans on their doorstep, desperate for help. Both women have dedicated their lives to helping the vulnerable in this village just outside of Harare.
The trustees of Zimonya are based in England. At this stage Zimonya is small enough that we do not employ anyone; we’re all volunteers.
Every penny of every £1 donated goes directly to those suffering in Zimbabwe.
