“Zimonya” is from the Shona language of Zimbabwe, meaning 'enormously powerful and strong'. The harmful effect of suffering is great, but the healing effect of working together for the good of others is far greater.
Is Zimonya a registered charity?
Yes, we are a fully registered UK Charity (1143461).
How can I donate to Zimonya?
There are a number of ways in which you can donate to Zimonya: information can be found on our GIVING page. Alternatively, please get in touch if you are considering organising a fundraising event so we can discuss how we can lend our support and help to publicize the event.
Can I donate non-financial items (books, clothes etc)?
Our preference is for financial donations, simply because it is easier and cheaper to send money to our team in Zimbabwe.
When I donate, where does my money go?
We guarantee that every penny of every pound given will go directly towards supporting the vulnerable in Zimbabwe. Please visit our GIVING page for more details.
Is there an orphanage?
No. The children are not housed together in an orphanage. Each child is re-homed with foster parents, enabling them to stay in their local community.
