Nigel is an orphan.  In 2013 Nigel had a brain tumour which was so bad it left him unable to walk or see.  
Thanks to Zimonya's generous supporters he was able to receive surgery to remove the tumour.  ​

He regained most of his sight and mobility and, with Zimonya’s assistance, began running his own business selling chickens.  

Nigel's eyesight is unfortunately deteriorating again, but he is still able to grow vegetables and rare chickens. He sells these on to local Zimbabweans in the village.
